On a MICS 6.1 I have 6 phones which have 3 lines on each that appear and ring. We have FNA set up on each phone to the VM DN and after 4 rings the EXTENSION calls roll to the individual mail box. This works fine. The problem is that now after 4 rings the LINES are also rolling to one of the individual mailboxes. Is there anyway for the lines NOT to FNA to the mailbox?

The only way I know is to shut off the ringers. Everything that rings on the phones will be forwared.

You would have to set the lines to appear only. Any line that is ringing on a phone is subject to that sets FNA settings. Do you have Auto Attendant or do you want the phone to ring forever? If you want it to ring forever than I would suggest turning off the FNA for reception and using just line appearances on the other phones.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

You can also put the lines in Hunt Grroups and make that phone a member of the Group. Then the call will follow the whatever the Hunt Group is set for.

Thanks to ALL for your response. This customer does want the individual lines to ring, so appear only would not work in this case. The owner also doesn’t want AA during the day. At night we send the lines to the GD mail box via CCR 1 and services.

Hawks, I haven’t used hunt groups. Is there any way I could email or call to discuss?

you can have the Hunt Group look like a Line and Ring like a line on inbound calls. But you can not press that button and dial out like you can a line. Would that work if so let me know.

So on an inbound call to any of the 3 lines, that one key will ring on all 6 phones until answered? Then once answered, if a second call comes in, that same key on the other 5 phones will ring, and so on. To make outbound calls do they have to use pool access?

Thanks Hawks.

Yes that will work, or you can even put each line in it's own group then you will have 3 buttons on the phones. You can mark them as 1, 2, & 3 if you would like.

OK...I will give that a try. I like the idea of each line in its own hunt group. Thank you.
