This is my first day with having FMP7 Server advanced up & running. Everything is installed on one box (server 2003). I've got one database published using IWP.

When I go to the url for IWP, I see my database listed. I click the link and it prompts me for a login, but which one do I use? Any ID I try, it automatically precedes the ID with the server IP\id.

I've tried using a database ID & password, but it does not work. If I open the database from FMP7 (hosts) and use that ID/password, it works fine.

I do have IWP selected in the extended priv. set. I also have both network (active directory) and filemaker accounts selected. How do I open it properly in IWP? What else should I check?

TIA,
Heather

Did you specify which users have access to the database via IWP?

you need to give access to the file under "Instant Web Publishing access to file". Which is located in the lower right hand corner of the Instant Web Publishing dialog box. (Sharing \ Instant Web Publishing)

Hope that Helps

Yes, I have given access under IWP in the extended privileges area (for all access levels).

I should also be sure to mention, I am not using IWP by sharing the file from the database itself (not from the sharing menu). I want to do IWP from the server hosted database. I hope that makes sense.

I'm guessing that either I don't have something configured right on the server, or I don't have an account set up correctly.

I have a top level account of admin, with full privileges and IWP is enabled in the extended privileges set for all access levels.

You might want to try sharing it on just FMP7 client, and verify you can access it this way. You will not be able to check the external accounts, but you could check filemaker accounts. This would tell you if your problem is with the account setup or with your server setup.

Yes, it does work fine from sharing the client with the FM account.

Ok, so assuming the issue must be with the server.

Check your authentication between FMS7 and Web Server? You might try removing then reconnecting the authentication between the two.

Did you install FileMaker Server 7 Advanced 7.0v3, Web Publishing Update?

Are you using SSL?

I put a call into FileMaker. The issue was with a setting in the IIS. It was checked to look at windows authentication, which should have been unchecked. I'm glad I made that call because I don't see that documented anywhere in the install guides.

Thanks for your help.
