Am trying to do data collecting and research. I use Mac G3, system 8.6 and have Filemaker Pro 3.

The data base and info I need to copy is in MS Access. ( 2000 I think it said). I copied the specific program onto a floppy and brought it to the Mac, but no matter what I tried it wouldn't translate.

It looks like the two data bases are totally compatible . There SHOULD be a way. I tried making the same fields (as are on the PC) in FMP and then enter /copy the info' but that didn't work.

I could use G4 Laptop, and system 9.1 but I don't think that would change the problem of collecting data.

AND! It llooks like Access isn't purchaseable to use for the Mac and the people who own Access (and thedata I need) aren't going to buy aFMP and change their whole system!! HELP!!!

I don't think that Access works on a Mac! We have to run Filemaker on our systems because it works between Mac and PC.

Have you tried exporting the data from Access into .csv? I think that Filemaker will work with .csv. Version 5.5 appears to.

Have fun!
