Using FMP Server V5 on a wintel box with Win2000 Advanced Server - the FM Server Admin Module does not start, doesn't do anything, FM says it is because we have iExplorer 6, instead of 5 - I don't want to cough up $500 us for an upgrade to FMP Server 5.5 - suggestions?

FM Server Ver 5 & Internet Explorer Problem

Have same prob. Contacted FM tech support and sales. They advised this situation is known bug and they have no intention of correcting it! Their solution is to upgrade to FM server 5.5. I suppose you could "dumb down" your version of IE but that leaves you/me vulnerable to MS holes/hacks. We have opted to upgrade.

Stan, ironically received a voicemail from FileMaker about the same time I read your response and that is the only solution they offer, pay $500us for FMP Server 5.5 to keep pace with iexlorer 6 (which is not cutting edge software to begin with) I am going to raise hell first, paying $500 to keep pace with old software with old software is ludicrous. I would rather drop using Filemaker all together and go towards their competition, they allow seamless "access"....
