When working with Framework Manager, I will initially go through and set the usage to unknown and the aggregates to unsupported in the properties pane. Is this standard, or something wacky that only I'm doing.
Why would you do that? I would not do that. I set the properties correctly as I want them. So I do tell FM which are attributes, which are identifiers and whcih are facts. And I do tell them how to aggregate them best.
I do not see any reason why to put these settings as you mentioned
Which would be easy on assigning the correct type to objects. However assigning aggregate behavior is still essential, datawarehouse or not. You wouldn't want to return factdata record for record, you want it aggregated against the non-facts.
