FM Pro 5.0 + Publish To Web

Hi, we have recently accquired a client using File Maker Pro 5.0 and some software called OptiGold as a glorified front end.

Our client wants us to make an interactive site (fair simply using MySQL) however they want it to work around the Filemaker/OptiGolg platform.

Can anyone provide me with the names of some books or web site address that will help me learn how to query FileMaker/OptiGold via the web. Do they need any other software (eg Filemaker Server??) todo this.

Although we are competent in our fields, we have never used filemaker and so any information you could give me would be great.

FMPro will allow up to 10 users to connect in via the built in webcompanion. You need to get a FMP unlimited to host unlimited users.

I still haven't found a good book about using FMP webcompanion.

If you can get your hands on an old copy of Claris Homepage, you can use the wizard as a starting template for the commands.

FMP Developer has a full toolkit for using the webcompanion, but the tutorials and stuff are pretty minimal.

However, once you get into it, it's really simple, and it pulls straight off a FMP database, which is still more user friendly than anything else on the mkt.

FMP5.5 which just came out is suppose to have more support for ODBC? But I haven't seen it yet.
