I'm stumped!!

I have BlackBerry Exchange Server running on Exchange 2000 to handle all my mail redirections.

I have 1 end user that is receiving his mail with no problem (out of town user that pulls mail from Exchange via pop3).

Redirection on this is via the main office's exchange server. The user has Outlook 2000 sr3,XP home sp1. Redirector on the user's desktop is disabled.

Mail comes in fine; synch is fine. However, ALL emails that are sent from the Blackberry show up as sent on the blackberry, but are immediately followed by an email from flycatcher@blackberry.net stating not to move, reply or delete message as it's used to move data from redirector to blackberry. Needless to say the recipients of the email have yet to receive the emails as well.

So, what I have ended up with is a ton of emails in the inbox (of both outlook and bberry) from flycatcher, and no sure way of getting them to/from bberry/outlook.

Any thoughts?

This message occurs when the user has setup desktop manager to use redirector instead of a Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you have a BES installed in your environment then have the user change desktop manager so they are using the BES and not redirector.

also try,
go into options on the device, mail services, and change the top option to Desktop instead of interactive.

Holly18,

Changing the service from interactive to Desktop will only change your email address to reflect that of the desktop software (for instance you have the Blackberry Desktop Manager which finds your address as ABC@ABC.com... it will give a service book option to use that address for sending. In interactive mode, it will give your PIN number as your email address).

Now what bc21640 said should be the problem. What is wrong is its looking for the redirector to push the email, not the BES server. Like bc said, have him open the redirector (start, programs, blackberry, redirector) and make sure he is connected to the internet (it would be better if he was back at the office). I would also suggest instead of them downloading the email via Pop3, to use the webmail feature of Exchange 2000. Its actually pretty good and it has a nice feature which can keep viruses from running (since it doesn't run script once you open an email). Hope this helps..

It could be that if you are no longer using redirector, then you need to go to the options on the device and delete all occurances of Desktop. If it was using redirector and now is only using BES or webclient, then you'll get those flycatcher msgs if there are still Desktop settings in the device that used to refer to redirector.
