OK....stupid question.....i have internal DNS/DHCP. My DHCP clients register themselves with the DNS server. The issue is that the DNS entries are being flushed. For example, laptopA has 10.0.0.1, but it doesnt have that ip address any more, but its still in DNS...laptopB now has 10.0.0.1 but when u do a lookup, it comes back as laptopA. How do u totally flush ALL dynamic entries from Win2K3 DNS? and how do u prevent this from happening again? I have set scavenging for 7 days, but that doesnt seem to be doing much.

Thanks

Scavenging has to be enabled in two places. First is on the server itself: Right click the server, properties, advanced, enable scavenging at the bottom.

Second is on the zone. Right click the zone, properties, aging button.

On the client you can speed things by running ipconfig /flushdns
