Hello,

Is there anybody who has a documentation on the flow which forward between ASA and the Softconsole, ASA and the Softphone, ASA and a pc on the LAN

Thank you very much

Can you re-state your question please?

What flow are you referring to?

ASA (Avaya Site Administrator) is just a user front end to administer the Avaya ACD/PBX. There is no direct link between ASA and the Softconsole or softphone.
ASA is an application that runs on the PC and connects to the Avaya PBX over a telnet session.

Even if the softconsole/softphone is running on the same PC as ASA there is no interaction between the applications. Yes, you can use ASA to change settings on the softconsole/softphone, but you are actually changing the settings on the server and the softconsole/softphone then gets its config from the server.

Ok, Sorry if my question is not clear.

We have a firewall between Vlan data and vlan Voice. And I would like to know the ports to be open and which are flows which are exchanges between the S8300 which is in the Vlan Voice and the Softconsole, the Softphone and the PC where is the ASA application which are in the Vlan data...

You should be able to see the Media Parameters, UDP Ports in: display ip-network-region X

dunno if this helps.

On the display ip-network-region page, there is a UDP Port Min and UDP Port Max range that you can specify.

Code:
display ip-network-region 1 Page 1 of 19
                               IP NETWORK REGION
  Region: 1
Location: 1 Authoritative Domain:
    Name: MOB
MEDIA PARAMETERS Intra-region IP-IP Direct Audio: yes
Codec Set: 1 Inter-region IP-IP Direct Audio: yes
UDP Port Min: 2048 IP Audio Hairpinning? y
   UDP Port Max: 65535
DIFFSERV/TOS PARAMETERS RTCP Reporting Enabled? y
Call Control PHB Value: 46 RTCP MONITOR SERVER PARAMETERS
Audio PHB Value: 46 Use Default Server Parameters? y
        Video PHB Value: 26
802.1P/Q PARAMETERS
 Call Control 802.1p Priority: 3
        Audio 802.1p Priority: 5
Video 802.1p Priority: 5 AUDIO RESOURCE RESERVATION PARAMETERS
H.323 IP ENDPOINTS RSVP Enabled? n
  H.323 Link Bounce Recovery? y
 Idle Traffic Interval (sec): 20
   Keep-Alive Interval (sec): 5
            Keep-Alive Count: 5

This is for voice traffic as detialed in the documentation:

Code:
UDP Port-Min Specifies the lowest port number to be used for audio packets.
Enter a value between 2-65406 (default is 2048).
Note: This number must be twice the number of calls that
you want to support plus one, must start with an
even number, and must be consecutive. Minimum
range is 128 ports.

CAUTION: Avoid the range of “well-known” or IETF-assigned
ports. Do not use ports below 1024.

UDP Port-Max Specifies the highest port number to be used for audio packets.
Enter a value between 130-65535 (default is 65535).

CAUTION: Avoid the range of well-known or IETF-assigned
ports. Do not use ports below 1024.

Other than those ports, you will need the following depending on your setup:

80/TCP - HTTP
443/TCP - HTTPS
69/UDP - TFTP
67 and 68/UDP - DHCP

If anyone sees that I missed a port, let me know.

softphone uses 1719 and 1720 for signaling to the IP address of your clans. ASA would probably use 5023 or 5022.

Guys,
I *think* jamadom93 is referring to a Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) - for example an ASA5520. Why there is a firewall between the data and the voice vlan I have no idea.

jamadom93, could you explain your network setup?

I should've read closer, thanks phoneguy...

My example applies to hard phones.

BIS,

I think we have him straight now with the info above.

Hello,

I have made the traces between vlan data and vlan voice.
if that interests somebody, it can ask it to me. I will send him it in Excel file
