How come all the floppy problems...now I have 'em. Just tried to mount my floppy and I get: Could not mount device. Mount:/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device
So I go to dev/fd0 check the properties and I see

Type : Block device
Location: /dev
Size: 0 B (0)
Free space on/: 391.4MB/493.8MB (15% Used)

Any ideas here....Haven't changed anything...it was working before...and I'm running RH8....and I'm a newbie so not to technical please

The fact that you have 391.4 MB of free space on /dev/fd0 is amazing.
