Flicking screen terminal session

When I log on to w2k terminal server (application mode) and run program the graphics on some of the pages begin to flicker. Because of the setup of the server I cannot change the refresh frequency of the monitor which is set at 85 hz (don't know if this is problem though). When I log on to console and run the same program I do not have the same graphics flicking as per my terminal session. I have changes colour settings and any others to minimum on client side to try to troubleshoot problems but to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

try the rdp client, if you are using the 2000 version of client software

Sorry I should have specified that client I am using is XP which is same version of rdc as one you suggested.

85khz is a bit steep for many monitors...

intrigued, why cant you change the refresh setting on the server?

Its a virtual machine running on ESX server. The only driver I can get for the monitor sets refresh setting at 85 and I am unable to change it
