hi...i'm new to flashMX.
The last time i used flash was way back when flash4 came out...and only for the duration of the 30day trial.

Anyway, does flashMX have any actual effects? Like alpha blending, or zooming and bluring? Anything at all...
From what I've been able to gather off the net, anything to do with special effects is done by some graphics program like photoshop...

Here I though flash was supposed to be pretty good at that stuff...I'm dissapointed to say the least. That's why i'm asking now. Am i wrong? Does flash actually have effects available? Like swish?

Page 5 and on...

Mainly possibility to embed video and dynamic load of pictures... But Flash is not really an effects maker!

so what makes flash so great then?

If you can't make those cool effects in flash without using other software, why bother with it.
If you need to program in flash, why not just use Javascript, with DHTML....

I don't see why developers use flash? confused...

Nobody is forcing you man! It's your choice!

Isn't that what liberating Iraq is all about? [bigcheeks]

hey hey hey...not looking for any arguments...

Just answers to questions...that's all.

I really wanted to make a wave effect in flash, thought it would be easier now then back in flash4 days...guess not. Flash doesn't seem at all worthwhile to me. Maybe after I've learned it some more I'll change my opinion.

But really, if i'm the only one that see's this...it makes me wonder what I'm missing or to the contrary why flash developers are so slow to see this...? again, I'm confused about everything.

I'll probably be back after a few months....though I doubt I'll have chnaged my mind...
thanks for the help newbie.
