Flash Sprites disappear when a dialogue box appears

I have a fairly simple Director file. There is a main menu which is a .swf and the links within the .swf via "GetURL:Lingo..." goes to a frame on my Director timeline where a pdf is loaded using Imperssario (from Integration New Media). Everything works fine.. until a system dialogue box appears on top of my running Director movie. For example.. When you go to print, the Print Dialogue box appears and if I cancel printing or print, the other sprites on my Director stage disappear. I have a back button and a "main menu" button which are just .tiffs. If you roll your curser over the area where I know they are.. they slowly reappear. It seems to be a screen redraw problem with Director. Any suggestions? Is there a way with Lingo to force an accurate redraw of the screen?

I found a solution to my problem. --

The usual technique for forcing Director to redraw the entire stage after some DTS sprites have left artifacts on the screen is to issue the command:

the stageColor = the stageColor

because you have affected the stage default color, Director must redraw the entire stage and all sprites.
