I have been working with flash remoting today and thought I was just about to solve my problem when I realized the CF server I am using has Cold Fusion 5 on it. As far as I am aware remoting is only available if CFMX is running on the server. Is this correct? (I am looking on the macromedia site but can't find answer)

If so is there a way to send flash variables to a local file (.html) which will then
redirect to another server running CF? Can't seem to find a way around this.

Thanks!

Yup looked there. From what I can see remoting is a feature of CFMX only.

It is really too bad Flash can't send variables outside of the domain the movie rests on.

Oh well,

Thanx

well it can but you need more server scripts to comminicate with the other server

i use remoting with php

is that an option for you ?

if so

there is also a perl version but i dont have a link to that

the problem is my site is on a server that does not allow any scripts besides there own premade, preinstalled, ones. I was trying to save some $$ by remoting bits to a CF server I have access too, which is unfortunately CF5. Or to find a way to send the form variables over to CF5 without having to use a script. I think I may be out of luck on this one.

regards
