I can't seem to log into the Flash with Feature 983, i get a log prompt instead of password, enter 1020000, and get invalid password. I also reset the password, still cant get in. I have tried config, admin, and it still tells me invalid password. I must be overlooking something. The system is a MICS 4.1 with a 2 port Flash, Rel.0.4 0000, verified the dn lenght, and feat codes. Any idea's?

Hello,
Is this a new Flash install? It looks like you got F903 to work. It didn't come up with password after F983 was entered after you verified the codes it came up with Log:
Really strange. It should of run you through the configuration next.
Dmac,

That's what i was thinking.
Anyone have any idea's?
Also the Flash was bought as a refurb.(by the customer)
Gabriel

It might be configured for a different DN length. Try logging in with 120000 or 10020000. If all else fails open up the Flash unit and short the memory cap for 5 seconds to default the programming.

I know this was probably posted before, but where is the memory cap actually located, and is it easy to find?
Now the stupid question: Do i short this out with power on or off? I have never done this before, so i want to make sure i do this right.
Gabriel

galfaro,

You can see the memory cap by removing the cover where the expansion card goes (at the bottom of the flash). The memory cap is on the far left side and looks like a small disc wrapped in plastic. You would definitely need to short it with the power off, but I think you actually have to open up the back cover to get to the two soldered leads of the cap.

Hope this helps,
