Hello,

I'm getting this error message while I'm trying to upload a new IOS image:

program_flash_ex: Write Error.

I am using the valid IOS image for my platfrom Cisco 1721, but I don't know how to fix this problem, does anyone had previous experience with this issue.

Regards.

have you tried formatting your flash (this will erase anything currently in there) but may solve your problem.

If you look at console messages - do you see any errors other than the one in your post

yes it was also something like this:

Cannot program flash at 0x6000000

I have lounched the IOS image in the RAM but I do not have posibility to format it, do you have any idea how to format the flash, any other way.

Regards.

What model of router are you trying to upgrade? Also can you paste the output from the 'show version' command.

Thanks

Here it is the version

not entirely sure how relevant this is but your config register is set to 0x1961 - change this to 0x2102

Some of the lesser Cisco router's don't allow you to format the flash which may explain why you cannot format the Flash.

I'm figuring you may have to source replacement Flash memory and retry your IOS upgrade.

No any other solution, since my router Ciso 1721 has 32 MB flash which is integrated and cannot be replaced or even upgraded. Any idea about any software from Cisco which may help format flash or else.
