Hi all,

Due to, no doubt, a stupid choice on my part media player now opens when I insert my flash drive (MicroCruzer). How can I undo this as it's the last thing I want! :)

I looked through the file types but didn't see an association that looked to be the cause.

Thanks

Thanks - but I already have autoplay turned off for all drives (did it through gpedit.msc). It's weird - I plug in the flash drive and media player comes up. Caveat is that it doesn't come up everytime - just about 30% of the time.

When it does so perform the steps in the link I posted.

Are there any Autorun.ini files on the drive, or any media files? Wouldn't hurt to turn off Hide System files and Hidden files in Folder Options/ View while checking the contents of the drive.

What media player are you using, and are there any options or preferences that you can check?

Try this quick fix first before you attempt a repair:

Thanks all! It does have some media files on it. I will wait for the next time it does it and try your suggestions. Thanks for your help - I'll report back what I find out.
