Flash button with text

How can I get a button with text to work on the whole area? I have made a button. Created a new layer and put the button text in it. Converted it to a button symbol. When I test it, I get the cursor to a hand, - but only on the area outside the text and still inside the button.

That means that the button is not clickable over the whole area. What have I done wrong?

double click the button

click on hit area - far right

draw a rectangle to designate the hit area of the button

I tried that - it did not work. It is like the text area makes a mask above the button surface, so the cursor does not see the button underneath.

Today, when I should make a .fla file as I described it in the first mail, it worked. I cannot get the same result as before. - The only difference as I see it, is that I have shut down and rebooted the computer.
