I have made a big CD project on Flash5
and i need it to work on both PC and Macintosh platforms.

I made a pc.exe
and a Mac.hxq

but the Mac version does not work.

I then treid to open the big flash(fla) file on
a Mac and the .fla wont open.

DOE ANYBODY KNOW OF FLASH5 bugs when trying cross platdorm
operations ?

Thank You !

Hello Henny,

I'm not sure I quite understand your question. But as far as Flash 5 bugs on MAC, nope, I dont know of any (or nothing more than you'd find on Flash 5 for PC) I use Flash everyday, on a MAC, and the files work fine on both platform.
Did you burn your CD yourseft? and if yes, did you make sure that you did it as iso/hybrid ?

Patricia

Yes I burn it as Hybrid.

The files are big (i guess it should have been done in Director)
and the only way i can make it work
is if i export as a normal SWF file to run in a Browser.
However the client wanted me to make it an executable.

also.. How can i make the mac cd version autorun so that
the Html/swf file can run automaticaly when the cd is inserted?

Thank you for your promt reply,
Hendrik-Jan

In case you haven't checked... You can go to Macromedia's site ( and type up things like cross platforms - pc - mac - cd authoring etc.
Just did and out of many documents, this one stood out:

Burning a CD authored on the PC for use on both the PC and Macintosh Platforms (TechNote 12816)

You could have a look at it!

B-)

hm hm I would have suggested to do it as a .swf file so now I dont know what to tell you
How about publishing it as a Mac Projector (stand alone projector)?
.hqx is a stuff file, have you unstuffed it before trying to use it? with the proper program?
as far as "I then treid to open the big flash(fla) file on
a Mac and the .fla wont open." you'll probably need some kind of translation program (like MacOpener for Windows, or something like MacLinkPlus for the Mac, if your Mac system is a little old. Otherwise, OS 8,6 and above have translators integrated (file exchange)
Sorry I cant help you more than that

Patricia
