I'm trying to print reports on a Flash 4 Voicemail. Can this be done with Hyperterminal? If so, what are the comunication parameters? I know for a Startalk Mini thy are
300 7 Even 1 Xon/Xoff. I couldn't find anything on Flash or NAM.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Baud Rate is 1200
8/N/1

I use VT100 for terminal emulation

That should be all you need.

All I've got is hyperterminal on my laptop and it does not work with 1200/8/N/1

hyperterminal lets you go as low as 110bps - just checked

I give up! I’ll reinitialize the Voicemail and start from zero. I used a DB25 to DB9 cable from Application Module to the serial port on my laptop. Configured Direct Connect to COM 1 (no other com ports on this laptop) 1200/8/N/1. Used VT100 for terminal emulation. I GET NOTHING!!!

Thank you

Sounds like your doing everything right. I don't know what else to tell you. I don't think reinitializing the VM will help.

1200
8/N/1

This is right out of the book.

Using an RS-232 terminal
The RS-232 terminal (or terminal emulation program) is used to access the Flash
Terminal Administration menus. These menus provide option lists, where you can
select different options that allow you to change configuration settings. Some
configuration tasks require a terminal. Other configuration tasks can be performed
using an M7310 or M7324 telephone. The diagnostic procedures throughout this
guide show you how to use the RS-232 terminal to configure a Flash system. If you
want to perform configuration tasks using an M7310 or M7324 telephone, refer to
the Flash Set Up and Operation Guide or the Flash ACD Set Up and Operation
Guide.
Before you can use an RS-232 terminal, it must have the same communication
settings as the Flash module. To determine the terminal communication parameters,
refer to the user manual that came with the RS-232 terminal. The Flash
communication parameters are:
• 1200 baud
• 8 data bits
• 1 stop bit
• no parity
Set the terminal communication parameters to these values. For instructions, refer
to the terminal operating manual. When configuring the terminal, Flash supports carriage return.

Important: Your terminal must be VT100 compatible and must support the VT100
National Character set. If the terminal does not support the National Character set,
text will be incorrectly presented.

The Voicemail is a mess. Everybody opened mailboxes did not assign extensions to them, assigned mailboxes to extensions and no one knows what the mailbox numbers are. I was just trying to get a clear picture of the system and delete all the useless mailboxes. I have this comming weekend to give it another try. I could not connect my Hypertreminal/VT100 to Flash VM or to NAM VM. To be honest with you the only other time I've done this was approx 10/12 yr ago when I installed a Citizen Printer to a Startalk Mini and it worked. I even have the custom cable I made back then (pin1 to pin1, pin2 to pin2, pin7 to pin7).

Thank you

If that's the case. Do a reinstall.

Same cable for a mini will work on the flash.
