Flash 4 Message Notification 3

I am working on a 8 x 24 with a Flash 4. I am having trouble getting the 'Message For You' to display at the Attendant set when there is a message left in the Gen Del MBox. The settings seem to be correct but there is no displayed mesage or stutter tone. Any ideas?

Check general delivery mbox 10 or 100, make sure the extension is set to the attendants number, then make sure message waiting is set to yes.

Thank you for the reply phoneguy. MB100 is set to the attendants number and message waiting is set to yes for the attendants local but when I access change mbox, it says message notification is disabled. Should I try a reboot and see if this helps? I am hesitant to reboot due to the age of this unit but will do so if I cannot find a different resolution.

If I understand correctly you are saying message notification is disabled for the mailbox. This feature alerts an external phone number or pager that the mailbox has received a new message. This has nothing to do with the "Message for you" indication on the extension's LCD. That is controlled by the "Message waiting" setting in the mailbox parameters.

To reboot simply unplug the stations from the Flash for about 10 seconds and then plug back in. This will reboot the Flash without powering down. Give it about 5 minutes to come back up.

That is a good tip to know, to reboot the Flash without powering down!

Is this only applicable to the Startalk Flash or does it work on the Startalk, Mini, etc.?

It doesn't work on the old Startalk or Mini, they both must be powered down and back on. It will work on the NAM or Call Pilot.

Make sure that static time & date are not on, F#806. This will keep Message for You from showing up on the phone.
