We have got a website that was developed on a PC platform. When the website is viewed on a Mac we get scroll bars appearing on the non flash site when we enter pages using the navigation in Flash. The pages are all embedded within framesets, and the framesets say not to show scroll bars. I have gone into the code generated by flash for the page embedd, and put quotes around the sizes, and this has fixed the scroll bars for the naviagtion, but the actual content pages still have scroll bars regardless.

Does anyone have an idea ??

Don't know if this is relevant on a Mac... Or which browser you're checking this... But did you try adding scroll=no in your body tags?
Eliminating the borders in the same tags may also have another effect!

;-)

just tried that and to no effect. there is an entry in the framset saying scroll="No" so that should take care of it. The browser is IE 4.5 for the Mac.

Hard to check without an URL... But did you try eliminating the window's borders? Also are you working with specific sizes or scaling in %?

;-)

We have set the borders to all of the sides to 0, and the frameset is using specific sizes. one column is 180, and the other is whatever is left over from the previous frameset which again uses specific sizing.

What's the content of this frameset? I was talking of the size of content & not of the frameset itself! Again, it's hard for us, for me at least, to imagine all of this. Why don't you post your url?

;-)

The site is not actually live yet, and we have got security setup to prevent outside access to our servers at the moment. When the site goes live I will post the URL up then, until then the client wants it kept under wraps (hence the security)

but the width of the content that is contained within the content frameset is about 570px and the size of the frameset is 600.

If you like we can continue this when the site goes live later this week (hopefully!!!)

Cheers

Hi Arperry,

Have you tried the following?
Putting the frameset at the same size as your document (570 pixels is it?), then put the document at 100% (and keep the "margin" values at "0" of course) ?

Ah! Patricia!
Je vois que tu prends les mauvaises habitudes de Dave! (Dave from davdesign... Not you Dave, if you're still checkin' on me!)

C'est justement à quoi je voulais en venir avec mon dernier post! Mais j'attendais que ça vienne de lui!

;-)

Bonjour Old :)

he he he, oui, I beat you to it on this one LOL (actually I can not believe it myself, and I'm sure this is going to be the one and only time, so I'm going to have this post printed on parchemin, framed and hung above my bed)

(au fait, je n'ose plus ecrire en Francais car je me suis fait reprimandée... on a uniquement le droit d'ecrire en anglais parait il....)

Patricia

Hey! I learned English!
What's keeping them from learning French? Or Spanish for that matter?
Is Spanish banned too? Could some one post the full list!

B-)

hey old, I don't have any bad habits ;-) nor an ambition to learn french when everyone who uses tek-tips can speak english, grrrrr! ;-) dave@davdesign.co.uk

Don't tell me Scottish is banned too!
I know you don't have any bad habits... You're sometimes just too fast for me. Of course... I am old, and can't run as fast as you nowadays!

B-)

If i were to write in true Scots tongue I don't think even I would understand it! LOL dave@davdesign.co.uk

(((psst Dave, you do speak French ;-) (are you trying to keep it a secret? )))

Actually Dave is French! He got away with it until now!
I thought his Scottish inpersonation (that looks funny... But no d... spellcheck on these forums) was quite good!
I think he picked it up in New Masters of Flash. There's a whole chapter about Scotsmen living in France and Frenchwomen living on the West coast!
