Could someone give me step by step instructions on how to fit text to path? I tried using help & am still having trouble with it. I am a new user. Thank you!

This explanation is for version 8 (don't know about the rest). First, draw your path. Second, type your text. Use your "Pick Tool" to select the text. Go to "Text/Fit Text to Path". A big black arrow will appear. Use this arrow to click on the path you created. Done.

I was not able to ft text to path using tsc20's method. I did, however, have success by doing the following:

Create the path. (Circle, box etc.)
Select Text ¦ Fit Text to Path. This places the cursor on the top of the path. If you want the text somewhere else on the path you need to use the Rollout. There are also options in the Rollout for spacing an orientation of the text on / along the path.

Also remember that to inspect (select for the purposes of changing properties) the text you must select the pick tool and then while depressing the Control key mouse click on the text.

Fit text to path is lots of fun! Good luck.

I'm not sure which version you have but I seem to remember that in earlier versions of Draw, the way the path was created had a big impact.
It's been too long for me to remember the details but....
If, for example, you create an oval path by draging your cursor from top left to bottom right, your text will fit to the path at the top(I may have this backwards).
If you create the oval draging from bottom right to top left, or bottom left to top right, etc... you get a different result.
This worked in version 2. I'm not sure when the rollout menu came into being.
