How can I use a vector image instead of text to fit to a path (eg. circle). The vector image is a line of text that has already been converted to curves. Is there simple way to do this in Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator?

In Corel I would shrink the image (text) to the width of the line. Then using the putty tool (interactive envelope tool) I would stretch it into place along the curve. But to perfectly honest, unless I didn't have access to the original font used, I would simply retype it as text, then convert it to curves after. It's far quicker.
