I am a beginner BCM tech that could use some help please..

This is my first swap!

I have a bcm 3.6 and need to swap some DN's.
Both Sets are 7316Es..

I tried the swap and ended up with both DNs now going to the same voicemail..

Any assistance would be great!

Here what I have: DN1 and DN2 both have voice mail and each has a line assigned to it.

Here's what I have done so far:

1)I used the copy user+data option to copy DN2 to an inactive DN4 incase I had an issue... and used the copy buttons feature to copy buttons of DN1 to a unassigned DN5
(Since this was my first time I was trying to be extra cautious as I have never used the copy feature before)

2)I then used the copy user+data from DN1 to DN2 thinking I would now have a copy of DN1..

3)I then used the wizard to change the DN1 to a unused DN3
4)I used the wizard again to change DN2 to DN1
5)Then changed DN3 to DN2

Each Dn had a target line:
Before the changes DN1 had Line1 and DN2 had Line2

6) I went to the target lines section and changed Line1 to goto DN2 and line2 to DN1

7)Went back to the DNs and assigned the lines
8) Copied buttons from DN5 to DN1

When I view the sets I see VM name for each set has not change but name on sets has changed.

I thought I was good to go, just needing a name change...
Before I did a name change went to test..

Called reception and had them transfer me to DN1 and DN2

Both DNs went straignt to voicemail of Orignal DN2....

Can anyone please help my get this straightened out?

For my next time I need to do a swap, what would be the best way to do it? What are my options?

Can anyone please explain the Copy function for BCM 3.6
I saw 3 options copy data, data+user and buttons..

Thanks

When you say "swap some dn's" you mean you need to physically move 2 sets and have them keep their existing dn number? If it's the case simply set the "set relocate" option to "yes" in general settings.
If you need to retain the same physical sets where they are but change their dn number then do a "change dn" in the general tab.(In services-telephony services)

Since both sets are of the same type 7316Ea I don't need to physcially move the sets. Just change the DNs

Swap the jumpers around. This way u don't need to touch the programming.

I am not onsite to make this change, and need to have a remote solution

I did some further testing this morning,
after speaker to user onsite.

I have removed the voicemail from both sets...

When I have reception transfer the call DN2 it rings at DN1s new location.

When I have reception transfer the call DN1 it rings at DN1s new location.

I checked and under the call forwarding option FWD all calls is blank so I don't think set is forwarded..

The Line appearances are working correctly as both sets also had a DID and the DIDs are ringing at the proper location, Issue is only occuring when reception does the transfer...

Thanks for the input, issue has been resolved.

Turns out that programming changes were ok, but issue was that reception was using pre-programed keys to transfer me to the DNs

Regard,
