Hello,

I need some spoon-feeding on this. I am trying to plug in a 1140E for the first time just for evaluating.
On CS1000M
I have SS 137.135.128.230 CP PM
MC32S 137.135.128.231
subnet mask 255.255.254.0

I plugged TLAN port of SS and MC32S into Linksys 5 port switch and also the 1140E

I set the 1140E as manual provisioning with S1 137.135.128.230 port 4100
gateway 0.0.0.0
mask 255.255.254.0

Phone does not connect to server and I cannot ping the SS from the phone.

Any help?

Thanks,

Set up a zone ( via Element Manager ) and build a Virtual super loop in the CS1000 ( 152 X X X etc ). I assume the set is not programmed in the CS1000 either, you need to program it, use a TN in the Virtual loop that you created.

I already have a zone 20 set up and a virtual loop with TNB built. My problem is the 1140E cannot connect to the connect server or even ping the SS 137.135.128.230 on port 4100 or 7300. What should the gateway setting be?

Thanks

I tried 137.135.128.1 and still cannot connect or ping.

On the Sig Server do you have the TLAN info configured for the 137.135.128.230 address? Or is that your ELAN address?

The 137.135.128.230 is the ELAN IP for the SS.

How would I find the TLAN IP of the SS and MC32S?

I find the terminology very confusing with "connect server, signaling server and TPS" all meaning the same thing.

Thanks

Well normally the TLAN ( Telephony LAN ) is the customer's network. They would provide you with a VLAN IP and you fill in the info via Element Manager. I am not sure if you can " fake " this and make it work as a test.

Do you get the Node and TNB request on the screen of the 1140?

No I don't get the Node request. Phone just searches for server and retries.

Got it to work. We don't have IP phones but our switch was upgraded to CS1000M before I came on board. The Node was created in Element manager with the TLAN IP. I just didn't know that mainly becasue I am new at this. So I plugged in the TLAN mask and node IP and the request for node and TN came up and I was able to login the phone.

Thanks for the pointers
