First time installing MS Exchange server, please help

Hi,
this is my first time installing MS exchange server, I've finished with the CD installation. I've read some chapters about Active directory and things like that, but i really have no clue what to do next in order to test if my server is working, can anyone tell me what to do next? or, at least give me some tips on where to start?

sorry, i forgot to mention the version. It's Windows 2000 Exchange server.
