Hello everyone,

I am about to install my first cm r8.1 on ACP 120 and I was able to get the avp updated.

My questions are:
1- do I need to install system manger? And if I do, would I need to install weblm ova too or it’s embedded with smgr?

2-Is there any post installation settings I need to adjust after installing the cm ova?

Last time I installed cm was about 7 years ago and as I remember there was some stuff to adjust after you install but Its not in my mind right now. So If you recommend any settings or documentation that I can find these stuff would be great!

Thank you for reading it:)

Hi, here some quick answers

1: If you’re gonna use SIP in any way, you need of course the proper licenses and SMGR + SM. A license manager is part of SMGR. If you do not have any SIP/SM licenses you can install a standalone WebLM.

2: Duplication settings, netwerk settings (NTP, timezone) etc.

Hope this helps.

So what is your goal with this? You need to install this at a customer?

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, they are going from Avaya IPO to CM.

Good choice, lol. Just let me know when they run into issues and need some expertise.

Lol. sure will do.

Another question please, Does the CM Simplex OVA includes the voicemail or messaging software or do I need to download AAM OVA? and for sure this would need license to make messaging work?

I do not think the OVA includes CMM anymore and I haven’t touched a Simplex CM for ages so I can’t exactly tell. But there is a R7.0 CMM OVA you can download from PLDS which is compatible with Aura up to 8.1.3. Of course you need the correct licenses but since you bought a new system I advise you to check the licenses if you are allowed to use IX messaging.
