I have put in many of these and can offer two things:
1. I have a very old and tattered doc that someone once faxed to me I would be happy to forward. It has the "standard issue" programming for both a T1 and PRI on a magix.
2. I have a pretty tight schedule this week and would be willing to help over the phone on a few conditions. you must actually read the doc and I won't "program it for you" over the phone. (teach a man to fish).
These are more scary myth than anything else. Once you have a roadmap they are much less intimidating.

jeepguy - install is in early january - i would love to get that info from you - i am not too lazy to read/train it is more a situation of a lack of good documentation and training options - ideally i could get the doc then arrange for you to be available for backup on install day - let me know if this sounds good then i will get my contact info to you - thanks!!
One of the most important things to start now, is to get from Telco, ALL the information they have concerning this T-1. Doing this now, makes a T-1 happen in 20 minutes vs. days because something was misunderstood between the customer, you, and Telco. Ounce of prevention and all that stuff... TipHelp@charter.net

pepperz is right. You want to get an "order confirmation" with all the specs on the T1 (b8zs, AT&T custom, # of digits telco is sending, type of switch in the Central office, DID range). Is this into a new system or add on to an existing? DID range will influence dialing plan.

I also have done many many of these myself, and out of 50, I have had 10 actually go in 15 minutes or less. I have had hours, to days (as Pepperz said)due to miscommunications on the Telco End, wrong CSU ordered, Wrong signalling. My word of advice is a Friday nite cut to make sure that IF there are any probs, you have time to figure out and make the adjustments and not take the company out of service during an 8-5 situation. The quick cheat sheet (that jeepguy has) is prob the best and same that the rest of us use(d). For Prints etc of your programming, make sure you are using WinSPM, as the console isnt going to give you squat for info if things dont go right. Also make sure you have a cutsheet from the Vendor (att, frontier whomever) with you, to confirm what they say they are sending you (digits, signalling, etc).. Good luck... Lana

Paradyne 3150,60,64 are fine, the 3150 is pretty plug n play right out of the box. Take your time and make notes as you go on what you have already completed, legend gets confusing when you lose track. What works for me is after every major change I print out the pri info.

If you are ordering a pri and the co is a DMS make sure you order the B channel subgroup L1 flag set to "yes".
Also, make sure you have ahead of time the ACTUAL circuit numbers for both the D channel and the B channels. If they give you a long string of nothing but letters you have the "silly circuit" name and not the actual circuit ID numbers.
Lastly, when in doubt remember B8ZS and ESF.
P.S.-Make sure if you are using the integrated CSU/DSU on a 100DCD board you are at atleast a R1.5 Magix.
P.P.S.- Make a loop-back jack. Jumper pin 1 to 5 and 2 to 4.

I am doing something similar to this and I need help with the following:
1. How do I route calls without using DID's? I will have two automated attendants (Group Call 790 and 791) and I want half of the channels to go to one AA and the other half to the others? Can I define this in the incoming and routing Dial Plan or this is only used for DID's? I may decide to go with DID but the truth is that I do not understand to well the adding and deleting digits.

If you're gonna install the T1 yourself the loopback plug is a last resort tool when trouble shooting with your T1 vendor.
I think they have changed that issue with the L1 flag on the newer magix boards such as the 100DCD. But look it up for sure. The Legend 100D will work with PRI or standard T1.
The programming details are best answered by some of the vendors or software guru's.

How about a few stars for the jeep if you plan on using this....
Initial PRI Setup
1. Set Frame Format to Extended Super Frame (ESF)
Lines/Trunks=>LS/GS/DS1=>enter slot # then Enter=>Extended Super Frame then Enter. You cannot change this parameter until everyone is off the phone. The screen will read “System Busy” until everyone is off.
2. Set Suppression to B8ZS
Lines/Trunks=>LS/GS/DS1=>enter slot # then Enter=>Suppression=>B8ZS=>Enter. You cannot change this parameter until everyone is off the phone. The screen will read “System Busy” until everyone is off.
3. Change Type to PRI
Lines/Trunks=>LS/GS/DS1=>enter slot # then Enter=>Type => PRI => Enter. You cannot change this parameter until everyone is off the phone. The screen will read “System Busy” until everyone is off. The system restarts.
4. Set Switch Type
Lines/Trunks=>PRI => Switch Type => make choice (usually 5ESS) => Enter.
This will take you back to the PRI menu.
5. Program B-Channel Group
B-Channel Group => B-channel group 1 => B-Channels, enter in the form: slot,B-Channel (sspp) starting with B-Channel 23 and working backward to B-Channel 1 for example if the DS1 card is in slot 4, you would type 0423, enter, 0422, enter, 0421, enter, etc. Return to B-Channel group menu.
6. Program Lines
Lines => type 1 for B-Channel group, then enter => enter line trunk numbers (1st 23 only). Return to B-Channel group menu.
7. Set Network Service
Ntwk Svc => Misc => CallByCall => Enter. Return to B-Channel Group menu.
8. Set Incoming Routing
Incoming Rtg => Dial Plan => Enter. Exit back through B-Channel menu to PRI Menu.
9. Program Dial Plan Routing
Dial Plan Routing => Service => 0 => Misc => Any => Enter. Exit back through to PRI Menu. If Telco is sending digits that match your dial plan exactly then this is all that is needed. If digits need any manipulation (add/delete) then this table is used. Run the report “PRI info” to see a nice logical layout of the “dial plan routing” table.
10. Program Outgoing Table
Outgoing Table => CBC Svc => Pattern => when prompted for list and entry numbers, enter 00 => Enter. When prompted for pattern number enter 0 => Next => 1 => Next => 2 => Next …9 => Enter.
11. Set Network Service
Outgoing => CBC => Ntwk Svc => 0 => Misc => No => Enter
12. If this is a local or general use PRI, you must change the Special Service Table as
follows: PRI => Outgoing Table => Special Svc => Del Digit => When prompted for entry number, enter 0 + Enter. Change entry to 0 => Next => change entry to 0, etc until all entries 0-7 are 0.
If this is a strictly long distance PRI, leave the Del Digit values at default.
If the switch type is 5ESS, the protocol MUST be set for “ATT Custom.”
If the switch type is DMS-100, the protocol must be set to “NTNAPRI.”
Additionally, if the switch type is DMS-100, the field “L1 flags” in the “Trunk Sub Group” table should be set to yes. This is more critical when using DS1 cards with an apparatus code beginning with 517M. These particular DS1 boards WILL NOT work properly without this parameter set.
