Hi,
I am getting First Page as blank for a Report which has a subreport within it as well. The records show up only from 2nd page onwards.
Pl suggest the solution.

Thanx in advance !!

1. Open the report in the Crystal Reports designer .

2. Open the "Section Expert" (Format > Section) and highlight the first group with "New Page After" enabled.

3. Click the "x+2" button and type "Not OnFirstRecord", preventing the first page coming up with the blank page, and save this new expression.

4. Save the report and call it through the WCS again.

The report should now be displayed without the first page being blank.

Hi,
tried with the above suggestion yet the problem persists.
That is,the records are displayed from second page onwards leaving the first page as blank.
Awaiting Suggestions ...

if the sub report contains groups, make sure the Keep Group together option is not checked.

Re: pgtek's suggestion, you should be checking for "New Page Before" and adding the "not onfirstrecord." There are a couple of other things you could try. If you are not using the report header, suppress it. The blank page might also be occurring because you have a group with "Keep group together" checked. You can try unchecking this by going to report->change group expert->options. You might also try right clicking on the subreport->format subreport->common and unchecking "keep object together." This would allow the subreport to be split across pages. You might also need to uncheck "Keep together" in the section expert for the section the subreport is in.

Well no break through ...
Baffling, as the other similar reports are working fine.
One more report without any subreport is suffering from same disease.

You should describe your report structure better

Where is the subreport? is it in the Group1 header or report header?

How big is this Subreport? does it print more than one page? Is it the first thing printed? Is there a "keep together" enabled on the subreport? (if there is take it off)

many more questions come to mind but tell use the structure so that we don't have to guess

The quality of the answer is directly proportional to the quality of the problem statement!

As per the requirement the contents of Main Report must be followed by the SubReport's contents. The Subreport is placed in the Report Footer and "keep together" option is unchecked for it.
Further, there is no record resulting from the SQL Query for Main Report. And then the Subreport contents show up from page no 2

try adding "Suppress Blank section" to each of the Main report sections

I was having this problem as well and lbass' directions helped me fix the problem. By unchecking keep object together on format subreport->common, the first page is now being populated as expected. Thanks!
