First and last in a group?

In a report (Impromptu Series 7), I have a list of accounts with transactions on that account. I need to create a custom calculation that will return me the date of the first transaction for that account (earliest date) and another calculation that will return me the date of the last transaction (most recent date). Can this be done in a calculation? Would a macro need to be used? Thanks for any help.
