Firmware Update from S8700 to CLAN

I have a CLAN on a CMS which needs a firmware update. Can I load the firmware file to the server and have it update both cards? I am tryng to avoid removing the CLAN card.

CLAN on a CMS? Do you mean CLAN in the PBX for CMS? Just want to make sure I understand the question.

Yes a CLAN in the 8700 connected to CMS.

Download the firmware file onto your machine from the support site. Enable the filesystem on the clan. Telnet into the Clan and upload the file. The clan is self upgrading. So you need to upload the file onto the clan your are upgrading and your source and target boards will be the same.

Thanks for the FAQ and comments. Does the CLAN connected to the CMS need to be taken down or disabled prior to the upload? I'm thinking that the link should be disabled nicely.

To upload the file you do not need to take the clan down, it will go down when you issue the command on the switch to change the firmware.
