MY
Hai,

I have a problem with one off my customer running this type off network:

1) Site A is having a 2mb Internet connection
Site B is having a 512k Internet connection

2) Both site have it own Firewall and are connected using
OSPF with all it bracnh site using Area 0.

3) By wright all B branch customer access the internet used the 512k and does not be affected by the first 2mb line. But each time the Site A 2mb line is down, all B branch will not be able to access the internet.

4) From any site in B including it self when I do a
-ax.x.x.x(E11 ip address) x.x.x.x(internet address) -p
the route will shows that the packet is using the 2mb
line to access the Internet. The result is the same
if I used tracert from Dos prompt.

5) Inside the ASN B site router there is no static route
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x(firewall ip address) while the A
have. If I add this static route in the B router, my
extended ping and tracert will shows that I am accessing
the Internet using the 512k(correct internet line). But
all the B bracnh will not be able to access internet at
all.

6) When I check with the B firewall guy, he advice that his
firewall is Virtual and when I ping or do a trace it will
used Site A firewall instead off his firewall.

With my limited info on firewall, is this true and how can
I prove to the customer that there are not using the 512k but are using the other site internet access.

Thanks
