Hi,

I want to have a column that can show how many days is really delayed while the task is even not finished yet. I try to use a duration1 and use the formula to calculate : Current Date - Baseline Finish Date, but it didn't work. Please help.

On the other hand, I would this figure show 0 if the current date is the same or earlier than the Baseline finish date. And if it is finished, the figure should be showing as nothing or equal to the Finish Variance.

I am not sure if my question is clear enough. I hope there will be solution. Thanks.

Hi,

You have to have a means of measuring progress. If a task merely has a start and end date, then how can you determine how much of the task as actually been completed?

1) break the task in to sub tasks. This assumes that the time chunk for each task is proportional to the work content.

or

2) have the resource or manager enter a % complete and calculate an estimated completion. For instance if the estimate is 50% but 75% of the span has elapsed, then you'll have a late estimated date of completion.

Thanks, Skip.

I am sorry I don't understand your suggested solution. I am sure it is my question not clear enough. Can you try help me again in my latest post "Delay Days Indication" ?

Thanks for your kindly help.

Your question does not have an answer.

Assume you have a task with 10 days duration and 1 day of work. After 8 days duration from the scheduled Start, 0 work has been done. Is this task late? On time?

Assume, too, that you have the same task but it is not on the critical path and has 15 days of slack. After 12 days duration from the scheduled Start, 0 work has been done. Is this task late? On time?
