Finding out my BIOS string

Can anyone help me find the BIOS string for my computer? The motherboard is MS-7145, but every attempt to get the BIOS string has failed. I've tried rebooting and pausing when the screen flashes at the beginning, pause isn't doing anything. Neither is unplugging the keyboard to get an error.

I've tried CTBIOS but I don't speak German and I don't see anything in all of the data they supply that looks like the BIOS string examples I see on the web. If somebody has used this little program, which line am I looking for? I've also tried BIOS Wizard but the second I hit run my computer reboots and crashes.

I'm trying to figure out the BIOS so that I can see if an update is available to flash. For some reason my computer isn't recognizing my memory upgrade and after trying different solutions this seems like the last resort.

This is the information it gave me, although none of it looks like a BIOS string that I have seen examples of:

Board: MICRO-STAR MS-7145
Serial Number: MS-7145B0505041074
Bus Clock: 199 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 05/06/2005

Belarc does say that my second memory slot is empty even though there is a stick of memory in it.

Sorry,

I went back & checked and darn this is the only info given...

So this time I checked the info out and this one provides the string you are looking for...

Thanks for the help guys! Everest gave me everything I needed and more. The model is a RS480M with BIOS version 1.01 and I've downloaded the latest BIOS which is v1.4 off of their website.

Now I have one more question. Looking at the flash instructions it says I need a floppy boot disk. My computer however doesn't even have a floppy drive, just a CD-RW/DVD drive. Is it possible and OK to create a boot CD disk and run the flash that way?

Yes. Make a boot CD, add the update utility and BIOS file to it and set your PC to boot first from CD.

Oops, I just noticed that all of the BIOS upgrades from that site are AMI, not Phoenix - Award which is what my BIOS is. Any other site that would maybe be able to help me out?
