Hi, i have a question and haven't been able to find my answer in the illustrater help file, or by searching the forum.
I'm trying to locate the source files for images which are in an illustrator document and can't seem to find them on my hardrive. When i go to the links menu in illustrator, the files have no names or extensions, but they do show up visually in the file.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks from a new forum member.

If the linked images are embedded, which it sounds like they are. You need to find the origional images that you placed in the AI file. If you received the file from a client/customer, and you need to change the origional image; get in touch with the creator.
There are plugin's out there that claim to unembed the images, but I have never had much luck with them.
