Running OS9.2

Once the OS boots up, there is a considerable amount of time before any program is allowed to run. If I force Quit, I get a Finder error.

Anyone know what this problem is and/or how to fix it?

Try zapping the PRAM and/or rebuild the desktop. Defrag your HD. Run a system utility like Norton Disk Doctor.

What is your system specs? RAM? Speed?

If you force quit before any apps start, you only have the finder to kill. That is the most likely reason you get a Finder error.

Your Mac could be looking for a network connection, Do you have any volumes checked to mount at startup? If so, your mac will spend 2 minutes looking for them.
Best of luck,
PT

yep guys above are bright fellows.

May also be something in your Startup Items folder.

Or it's possible an auto recover of a document, perhaps in AppleWorks, is trying to sort itself out.

I'll be looking for more details from you on your system.
