On one of the user computer an error pops up saing that the user's computer ip address is in conflict with hardware addresss 00:05....... Is there a way I can scan our lan to find out which device matches that hardware address so I can resolve my problem.

. For a Windows workstation:

Start, Run, devmgmt.msc
View, Show all hidden devices
Open then the Network adapter section and remove all "ghost" devices.

Reboot.

. In general, if there really is an IP conflict, see thread581-1011611

How do you know which is a ghost device?

I download and ran ipscan but did not find a match on the hardware address. I think that same computer has a network adapter conflict within itself.

their was actually another network adapter that I had disabled in the hardware manager that had the same IP but was conflicting.
thanks for all the info
