We are using F9 - huge problems getting the new version installed. We were told that it had drill down into transactions at Engage 2005, but it would seem that is wrong - is it?
If so, can any one suggest other GL reporting packages out there that makes this horrible GL module work at least past the year 1980?
FRX?? does it have an integration piece for Progression SQL?

Hello David,

FRx will work, but whats wrong with F9? And what's this "new version" you are talking about? Are you talking about the "Vision" product?

Hey Don,
We had a really old version. When I was in Chicago, we agreed to buy the new version. When you ask what is wrong with it, do you know if it drills down into transactions. Otherwise, we had trouble installing on our Toshiba laptops, all others seem OK.
Do you have a contact/soultion for FRX integration? I am coming to the US again next week and would like to source a good solution whilst there.

F9 can drill down. You might talk to Steve and see if Pat Carrick can help you with drill down and the laptop installs. Pat is probably the best F9 person Triangle has, although to be fair I don't really know Steve's new people.

FRx is owned by Microsoft now, but the partnership with Exact/Macola has been over for 5 or 6 years. I do not know if a newly purchsed version will work with Macola. You might check out the website
There is also a new 3rd party solution provider of Exact's called Synoptix. It is another excel add-in and they advertise drill down capabilities. Here is the website:
Good luck!

There is no integrator for FRx with Progression SQL as far as I know. nexDimension can develop one, but it isn't cheap (
I have a Pervasive customer that uses (and loves) FRx, however they want to upgrade to MS/SQL. I'm toying with the idea of keeping FRx over Pervasive and DTS'ing the data from MS/SQL to Pervasive so that they can continue to use FRx.

Hello MacolaDownUnder!

How've you been, David?

Has anyone in US shown you EBA yet, either your reseller or your colleague Tim? EBA reporting might be the ideal solution for you, not just for your GL reporting, but advanced Logistics reporting also. Full package pre-built cubes for sales, logisitics and financials already exist for Progression.

(Note also that the e-Synergy cubes/views launch end of June. I can personally validate that the e-Synergy EBA foundation was very carefully created. ;> )

For any consolidated site like your own, I would strongly advocate EBA as reporting tool.
