Hi guys,

Last question of the night...too much already for you guys.

How can i use Escape as keyboard shortcut that will go to my Selection tool. It is very useful when working inside a table and you do not want to press "I" which is the shortcut for the Eyedropper.

The text tool use ESC for going to selection.

Thanks,
S

I look at tables in a really weird way.

As said before, tables are quite fussy and informal in terms of usablity in InDesign. So I look at working a table sort of like a 3rd party application.

Tables use their own short cuts, Esc toggles the cell highlight and text highlight.

Best bet is to escape the table. So a quick click outside the table, gets you away from the table shortcut keys and then start using InDesign shortcuts again.

Yes Eugene, tables in Indesign are mostly a pain...I don`t know if the Adobe developers know it so they improve it a bite by bite with the excuse to release a new upgrade but anyhow is a poor feature in the software.

I will try to strip the table of all styles and save it in an external .innd document, maybe that way i could work easily.

The shortcut with ESC, i used to have it (somebody in a forum wrote the answer) with the eyedropper but i lost my keyboard shortcuts and so i lose it.

Thank

ps: by the way, a Munster or Leinster man?
