Filters vs. PageBy

Hello,

Can someone tell me if this is true or false. Please help.

When a report has a PageBy attribute and no filter associated with that attribute and it is executed the resultset will be stored in cache. And then when a user clicks the page by dropdown, the report then uses only the slice that is needed from that cache?

or is new SQL generated and the engine runs the new query?

No new SQL is generated. Like a pivet table in excel the data is already available you just see a different view of it.

Do you really want new SQL (not sure why)? You could try to disable cache so if it helps.
