Hello!

--------------------
Version: 10
Language: ASP
--------------------
I have a report with a sql that produces a huge result.
I also hav a web application where the user can set
criteria to reduce the selection.

Question: How do I change (or add) the sql in the report
without using creation API functions?

Tried Filtering but that turned out in "Not licensed to use creation API".

Is it possible to do this?

Normally if you are passing in criteria you will set up parameters in your report which are assigned these values and create selection criteria using the parameters.

Does this help?

That would be a terrific solution and I guess thats the best thing.

What makes me wanna do it the other way is that I have 40 old reports from version 6 where they used that type of solution and there's a lot of work editing all reports...

=> I'm lazy :)

I'm sorry I can't help you there...I know you could edit the SQL in older versions but I don't know if you could pass it straight in. And for 10 I haven't a clue, sorry.

Good luck

Thanks anyway.
It's possible that I must go with the parameter solution,
looks like thats the best way even if it leaves me with a lot of work...
