Hi,

ARCserve 2000 SP4
Windows 2000 SP3
Exchange 2000 (on another server backed up via Exchange agent)

Sounds like a really simple thing but I can't see how to do the following.

I am trying to backup up just the Brick level of my exchange server. I can back it up just fine, but I want to exclude 2 individual mailboxes. I don't want to just "uncheck" them as I still want a dynamic brick backup.

Can anyone explain how to filter out individual mailboxes. The ARCserve filters seem to require a drive letter or file name:

C:\temp\*.* (for example)

Could I use:

*\Mailboxname

Thanks in Advance,

Matt

I don't think filters work for DB Agents at all, only files and directories.

By the way, the Bricks Level backup is not a replacement for the complete Info Store. Protect your data and yourself, backup both.

Thanks I will just have to put up with it then.

I backup the whole server every weekend for DR purposes and just brick during the week. My backup window is too small in the week to perform full backups so I backup just user data in the week, and full backups of every server at the weekend when users will not be impacted by the backup.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi,

In case anyone is interested this definatly can not be done via the agent. I found a workaround though. If you disable access for the dbagent to the mailbox you want to exclude is has the same effect.
