I have about 20 rules on global filtering, which should go to all servers. Then I have some exclusions on machine-level agent filters. If I put any machine-level filtering it overrides the global filtering; so if using agent filtering I have to copy all the global filtering rules to agent filters also. Sounds like a nightmare.

The help manual states that use \\machinename\path in the global filtering to exclude a particular path, put tried all possible ways to achive this and cant get it to work.

Anyone got it working?

Made some more testing. Seems that you can put a machine-level filter in the global filters as \\machinename\c$\dir, put it doesn't work with the agent. You have to backup the server through network browsing, which again gives a new problem with open files not being backuped.

Any way to get the global filtering working with the agent?

for the machine specific filters add them at the volume level. Open the tree browser for that system right click on the volume and add the filter there.
