filtering a report using a form

Hi, I wish to open a report using a form with search criteria. But I only want to use the first letter of the required string. i.e. I want to enter a letter eg:'B' in my search box on the form, which should return all records that start with the letter B, and so on, for any letter I chose.

Thanks for that, it works fine, but do you know what I would need to do to use this in a parameter query? so the end user gets to select what to search for without having to change the query construct each time?

In the criteria cell of the query grid:
Like [Forms]![search form]![search box] & '*'
