Filling fields after combo box selection

I have a combo box on a form that gets its list from a table named general directory. The combo box lists all of the names in our phone directory. The user will select which name they want the contact information for and select it. The corresponding fields also gets its info. from the table general directory. How do I get the corresponding fields to fill with their contact info. Do I simply need an after update message? What would it be?
