I'm running Backup Exec 9.0 Rev 4367 on a Windows NT 4 Server. I was asked to do a restore of an Access database but when I looked for it, it wasn't being backed up. My job is a Differential and this database is opened daily but closed in the early evening. I checked the archive bit on the file and it has a check. I can't understand why its not being backed up.

I know there are BE patches that I'm behind on. Could that be a problem? All my other files are being backed up.

Any idea on what to look for next?

Thanks.

Check your backup logs and see if the mdb is throwing up an error message.

Just becuase the client is closed out doesnt mean the server release the pipe sucessfully

you may want to look into the open file option, I think it's around $500.00. good luck

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I figured out what went wrong. About a month ago, I found that our Differential back jobs had outgrown our 80GB DLT tape. Actually, in a differential job, the job grows each day as more files are opened. As a way around this, I changed the job to Backup files opened today. Well, my job started at 10:00pm. By the time I got to the directory described in my original post, it was about 12:20am. Well, in that 20 minutes of today, that file did not change therefore it did not backup. For the time being, I started my job earlier to get everything in before midnight.
