Hi, I am trying to open a browse files window and select a file saving it to a string. I have tried a lot of different methods, but nmothing is working. Here is my recent code that I have tried.

thats it not exactly what I want, but when ever I run my code I get an error that says: can't find project or library

If anyone knows the answer to this problem I would greatly appreciate it thank you.

This might work for you. This example was used in an Access97 database and is called from a button. Clicking the button will open the File Dialog box, the user then selects the file and what they select is then displayed in a text box on the form or you could just use the variable in your code for further processing.

I already tried that code and the error I get is can't find project or library and it points to CurDir. Thats ok I just used the olebound object instead. Thanxs though.

Sorry it hasn't worked for you. Perhaps you need to set a reference (don't know which one it would be)? I just tried the code I posted and it works in Access 2000 (this was in a new file, so no references were set other than defaults) as well as 97. I tried the code you posted and received an error message for fd As FileDialog "User-defined type not defined". Glad you found a solution that works ok for now.
