I am trying to send an Img file (a very short video) size 31MB created on Quick Time. I'm using AOL which has a limit of 16MB. How can I compress/reduce the size of the file so that I can send it?

What kind of compressions software are you using?

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

Dear DestinysDream,
All that I've done is to WinZip it. I'm not using any compression software.

How big is it if you use WinZip.

Even if you can get it under 16MB the recipient may not be able to receive it. Our mail server has an incoming attachment limit of 10MB.

I'd check with the intended recipient as to what, if any, their attachment restrictions are before you go to the trouble of trying to compress the file any further.

Cheers.

Yes, if its over 10mb, there's a very good chance it won't be delivered. The reality is, anything about 5mb can often wreak havoc. Consider creating an ftp server, or just burning it to cd and dropping it in the mail.

Dear mattjurado and cmeagan656,
What about getting it onto our website for those who can to see it? How do I go about that?

Copy it up to the webserver and reference it in a link on a page? Depends how your website is setup... Shouldn't be that difficult.

Streaming video? Not unless you want it to be.
