I've setup a weekly offsite network dump of data, got a couple questions.

1) How do Iensure data is being compressed before it goes over the network?
2) On my Brightstor Server, when it does a backup of a remote server using the Windows client, does the data travel from the remote server, to the Brightstor server, to the File System Device I configured? Or does it go straight from the remote file server being backed up, to the File System Device?

Cheers

1 Set software compression in the global options of the backup job

2 If your file system device is remote to the host server then technically it comes from the client to the host server then out to the file system device.

RE: 1. How do I get to the Global options? I can't find it...

Thanks

Create a new backup job or modify one of your existing ones and click on options in the toolbar near the top of the page.
